The Regional Strategy defines the prerequisites for the success of Tampere region and its direction for the future. It is a strategy that combines the regional development objectives (Regional Plan), as well as the development tasks and measures (Regional Programme), to be utilised by all actors in the Tampere region.
In particular, the Regional Strategy deals with issues that are common to the entire Tampere region, and whose solutions require regional actors to share a common vision, combine their efforts and take aligned actions.
Due to its overarching role, the Regional Strategy examines a broad, "macro-level" picture of the development landscape, while the details are specified in other plans and programmes and in the strategies of various parties.
The Regional Strategy has multiple uses:
- It clarifies and reinforces the shared vision of regional actors on the direction of regional development and encourages their aligned actions
- It identifies the strategically most important targets for the use of resources and capacities
- It identifies areas and opportunities for both internal and external collaboration within the region
- It supports the region’s public image and strengthens its brand
- It also ensures that EU cohesion programme funding is appropriately allocated to the Tampere region
By 2030, the Tampere region will be:
- A leading community for growth and expertise
- A pioneer of the sustainable transition
- A model region for resilience and safety
- A trailblazer in connections and collaboration
